Google Cloud has appointed Paul Migliorini as Vice President for Australia and New Zealand, replacing Alister Dias, who left for personal reasons. Migliorini was previously the CEO of Versent, which was acquired by Telstra last year, and he has over 25 years of international work experience, including serving as the Managing Director of AWS Australia.
Based in Sydney, Migliorini will be responsible for developing local market strategies and closely collaborating with several clients and partners, including ANZ Bank, Woolworths, and Telstra. Karan Bajwa, Vice President of Google Cloud Asia Pacific, stated that Migliorini’s extensive experience will help drive the company’s growth.
Migliorini emphasized the profound impact of artificial intelligence on the tech industry and the world, expressing his eagerness to leverage Google Cloud’s technological advantages to help clients and partners achieve tangible results.
Additionally, Google is enhancing Australia’s digital infrastructure through investments in subsea cables and renewable energy projects. Google Cloud reported revenues of USD 10.3 billion for the second quarter of 2024, representing a 29% year-over-year increase, and has achieved quarterly profitability since the first quarter of 2023.
